2025-10-22

On September 4, the 2nd Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference was held in Beijing, jointly hosted by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Beijing, the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) of Pakistan, the Board of Investment (BOI) of Pakistan, and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). At the invitation of the Embassy, the Trade and Economic Multifunctional Platform for SCO Countries (hereinafter referred to as SCO TEMP) organized representatives from twelve member units for the conference. Multiple cooperation agreements have been reached, enabling enterprises to expand their international business.

Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech. He affirmed China as Pakistan’s most sincere and trustworthy friend. He announced that both sides have decided to actively advance a “2.0 version” of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor. He welcomed Chinese businesses to invest and build enterprises in Pakistan for mutual benefit.

Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), also joined and addressed the conference. He said that the CCPIT will work with Pakistani partners to deliver on important consensuses between their leaders, further solidify bilateral and multilateral business cooperation mechanisms, deepen collaboration in the industrial chain and supply chain, and promote the upgrading of trade and investment cooperation between enterprises from both countries. He pledged that larger contributions will be made to build an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.

During the B2B matchmaking sessions, hundreds of enterprises from both countries engaged in deep exchanges in key sectors including new energy, digital economy, agriculture, and infrastructure. Over 200 negotiation meetings were held, and 21 joint venture agreements were signed, covering agriculture, information technology, artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, solar energy, mining, petrochemicals, healthcare, and steel. All this has injected new momentum into bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

During the conference, the representatives reached several cooperation consensuses with Pakistani firms. Among them, Ainongjiayuan brand management (Chongging) Co., Ltd., Xinyukun (Chongqing) Industry& Trade Co., Ltd., mProbe, Blue Eagle Airlines (Beijing) Investment and Development Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Yuyu Investment Co., Ltd., and others signed memorandums of understanding with Pakistani enterprises, with a total signed value exceeding USD200 million.

A round-table discussion was attended by Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research of Pakistan; Tanveer Ahmed Bhatti, Consul-General of Pakistan Chengdu; along with representatives from the SCO TEMP. They explored topics including the enhancement of Pakistan’s food production capacity, the modernization of its agricultural industry chain, and cross-border agricultural technology transfer. Both sides agreed to utilize this opportunity to establish long-term cooperation mechanisms to jointly promote collaboration in areas such as crop cultivation, cold-chain logistics, food safety testing, and the import and export of agricultural products.

Hu Kaiqiang, Director-General of the SCO TEMP, said that at this conference, the SCO TEMP followed a “platform taking the lead + high-level dialogue + enterprise taking action” model. This helped members upgrade from mere “business-to-business” interaction to “government-enterprise coordination,” and leap from project matching to building cooperative ecosystems. The model offers replicable, platform-based solutions for enterprises expanding overseas.
